Stourhead, Wells Cathedral, and Stonehenge!

On Wednesday, we spent the whole day driving on a coach (not bus... coach) through the west side of the country.

First we went to Stourhead, a huge family estate with beautiful gardens. Its also the location of that one scene in Pride and Prejudice where Lizzie gave the smack-down. You know....., this:

Hahaha.

Anyways, then we went to the Wells Cathedral in.... Wells. It was HUGE, BEAUTIFUL, INTRICATE, and all other amazing adjectives of massive cathedrals from the 1100s.

We finished the day off at Stonehenge, which was the windiest experience of my life. It was a great day! Words can't really tell the story so I'm jumping straight to the PICS:

Well's Cathedral- during my time here, I found a HUGE empty stone room completely empty. So I hummed I Am a Child of God... :)  I also found myself stuck sitting below the huge stained glass windows for a very long time. So much beauty.

And finally, Stonehenge!

  1. I love that stone staircase, very cool. If you like stained glass, be sure to go to Sainte-Chapelle in Paris! It has a TON of stained glass with like every scene of the Bible in it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sainte-Chapelle
