Havin' a RIOT

On Saturday, I needed to do an assignment where I walked through the political center of the city... past Downing Street and to Buckingham Palace. Shelby and I went together without realizing that there were protests going on over the election results.

It was exciting! We stood across the street from the protest at Downing Street, observing the signs and the chanting and the police for a while.

Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted, people in the crowd started throwing smoke bombs all over the place, and the police retreated backwards. Since we were standing in the immediate area we had a though, "Maybe we should back up?"

We did, and we got to see the riot police roll in as the crowd began getting much more out of hand.

Sorry mom, you know I had to stick around, because I'm making memories over here. haha. It was EXCITING! :D

Here's a news article about it: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-05-10/riots-erupt-in-london-against-re-election-of-david-cameron/6458098
